REGULAR COURSES

49. *ACCESS DATABASE  starts 3/12, Wed. 5 weeks  6:30-9 p.m. $50
Access is the database of Microsoft Office. If you have been using the data feature of Excel to track & sort information then this is a must course for you. The fast powerful program comes with the Office package. We will build a database for home or work. You will be able to move data from Excel into Access, sort varied fields & to mat data in the order & way it will appear & merge selected fields of the data into Microsoft Word document. Prerequisites, MS Office, Word or Excel. An additional materials fee is payable to instructor the 1st night.

50. *Introduction to COMPUTERS starts 2/6, Wed. 5 weeks  6-8 p.m. $50
Just the essentials of what you need to make use of your computer. You will learn to write letters, address the envelopes and print them all. You will learn how to send and receive e-mail and how to send a letter or resume as an e-mail attachment. In class you will receive attachments, file them on the hard drive and print them out. We will download and use pictures from the internet. An additional materials fee is payable to the teacher.

51. *INTRODUCTION TO MS WORD  starts 3/12, Wed. 5 weeks  6-8 p.m. $50
Want to learn more about MS WORD? This course will get you proficient in Microsoft Word. Learn to get around the word processor and see what you and your computer can do and update your skills. An additional materials fee is payable to the teacher.

52. *COMPUTERS FOR THE REST OF US starts 2/5, Tues. 5 weeks  7-9 p.m. $50
This course will be basic to both make you more comfortable with your computer or as a refresher if you think you hit a plateau and want to move on. A little bit of Windows, some Internet, preparing sending and saving emails and attachments.

53. *COMPUTER HARDWARE  starts 2/6, Wed. 5 weeks  7-10 p.m. $50
Has your computer just about ground to a halt? If you want to keep it going for a while, there are several things you can do. Or maybe you solved or will solve the problem by just getting another computer; what’s next? Your files, music and photos are on the older machine, they need to be transferred. You will see what FREE software is available to help you accomplish these and other maintenance chores. We will look at all those wires and connecting to the Internet and to the older computer. Material fee payable to instructor 1st night

54.*COMPUTERS FOR SENIORS starts 2/6, Wed. 10 weeks 4:30-6:30 p.m. $50
This course is a beginning class. Catch up with your children and grandchildren with what they learn in school. E-mail confidently back and forth to family, send and receive attachments like photos, be able to print them out if they are recipes or photos. Send letters, budget your finances, use map programs to find your way to new places, etc. Help with your computer questions. Learn how to successfully search the Internet for medical questions, hobby needs or travel destination. Material fee payable to instructor 1st night

55. *EXCEL starts 2/5, Tues. 5 weeks  6-8 p.m. $50
This course will show you how to construct a spreadsheet and you will learn about storage and retrieval options, printing, functions, ranging, copying, charts and more. Produce professional work for proposals and reports. An additional materials fee is payable to the teacher.

56. *Microsoft Office starts 3/11, Tues. 5 weeks  7-9 p.m. $50
One of the most common and best selling packages in the world has become that for a reason. It is not just good, it is very comprehensive. The four main components are Word, Excel, Access and Power Point. We will review each program as we explore its integration with the whole. You should have familiarity with at least one part. With that we can look at some of the intermediate functions involving two or three applications in one document. An additional materials fee is payable to the teacher 1st night of class.

Want to continue to learn more about MS EXCEL? This is a advanced course that will get you proficient in Microsoft Excel. Learn to get around the spread sheets, set up charts, keep track of files and see what you and your computer can do - update your skills. An additional materials fee is payable to the teacher 1st night of class.

58. KEYBOARDING (TYPING) starts 2/5, Tues. 6 weeks 6:30-8:30 p.m. $40
This course is for those who wish to learn the touch method of typing on a computer. The goal will be to type properly at a fair rate of speed for business or personal use. Don't prod along with one finger--use both hands!

59.*WINDOWS starts 3/11, Tues. 5 weeks  7-9 p.m. $50
The Operating System we love to hate. Either way we need to know how to use it and some of its shortcomings. We will learn some of the applications that come with the OS. How to multi-task safely. File management, backing up and exchanging files will be covered. Finding a lost file and getting rid of files that are clogging up your hard drive will be considered. Memory management and disk management will be discussed. How to navigate and exit when the mouse dies. Material fee payable to instructor 1st night.

How would you like to be able to show your employer a professional presentation from your computer? Create flyers for your business! Learn how to do it all by exploring the power of PowerPoint for Windows. Bring a blank disk to 1st class. Material fee to instructor 1st night.
