14. *Photography 101
$75
10 weeks Wed. starts 2/7 6–8 p.m.
Do you have a digital camera but simply don’t know how to use it in anything other than auto mode? Tired of your photos simply not being good or creative? Do your photos many times seem blurry or too dark, or don’t capture the moment the way you envision? Do you want to develop a photographic eye? In this class you will learn the basic skills that will give you total control over your camera to capture the look and feel desired in your photography. This is a truly beginner course and we will move along at a pace that ensures everyone understands the principles behind great photography, but it’s also a wonderful class for the more experienced photographer that is looking for inspiration to sharpen their skillset and enhance their education. This is a “hands on” class that will utilize your camera in virtually every class. You’ll learn about various photography techniques and solidify them through weekly outside assignments and an in-house photography exhibition. Schedule and weather permitting, we’ll plan a field trip to further enhance your shooting style and skills. We’ll also cover various lens options and using flash. The course does require that you have a camera that will enable you to shoot in Auto, Manual, Aperture and Shutter Priority modes. Please make sure to bring your camera and manual (if you have one) to all classes as we will use them during class often.
