FIELD TRIPS

1. BARNES FOUNDATION MUSEUM & ARBORETUM, Fri. April 25 $70
Join us for a visit to Barnes Foundation which includes the museum containing famous artworks collected by Albert C. Barnes and 12 acre arboretum developed by his wife, Laura. You will see many paintings including ones by Renoir, Matisse, Picasso, & Cezanne. There is an important collection of African sculptures. Trip will include bus transportation, admission, tours, audio and a late lunch at a local restaurant. Meet at Keith Valley Middle School 227 Meetinghouse Rd. football parking lot @ 9:15 a.m. & return @ 4:00 p.m.

2. PEARL S. BUCK TOUR  Sat., May 14th $49
Enjoy tour of the famous author Peal S. Buck’s house and gardens. This historic home, located in Buck’s County is preserved & operated as a museum dedicated to educating the public about the late author’s life, accomplishments & message of multicultural & humanitarian values.
Trip includes: Tour, delicious Chinese luncheon buffet and bus transportation. Bus transportation Meet at Keith Valley Middle School 227 Meetinghouse Rd. football parking lot @ 9:30 a.m. & return @ 3:30 p.m.

You’ve watched all those decorating shows on HGTV. You say, “I have a sofa, I have lamps, and I have “stuff” –how come my rooms do not “feel” right? Let Donna teach you how to pull your room together to create a fresh new look.

6. REDESIGN WITH COLOR, 1 night, 4/9, Wed.  7-8:30 p.m. $15
Are you living with white or beige walls? Do you love color, but are afraid to make a mistake…Putting color on your walls can easily change your room from okay to WOW! Let me show you how you can pull your room together using our redesign and color program.

7. JEWELRY MAKING (Making lariat, necklace & earrings) starts 2/26, 2 weeks, Tues.  7-9 p.m.$20
You will enjoy this relaxing hobby & wonderful gifts for you or someone special. Bracelet, lariat & earrings with gems & silver. This is a relaxing hot hobby open to men & woman. We will be using fresh water & glass pearls & crystals using 3 wires. Material fee: $30. Payable to instructor 1st night of class. Please bring cash or money order.

8. JEWELRY MAKING for Eye Glasses/ Sun Glasses,  1 night, 3/11 Tues. 7-9 p.m. $15
This class will set you up as being a 1st to have an impressive necklace for your glasses/sunglasses. Your going to enhance your wardrobe for yourself and as gifts. No longer a plain utilitarian holder for your glasses but a necklace that coordinates your wardrobe. Material fee: $25. cash payable to instructor that night. Class open to men & women. Have fun with this new hobby.

13. INTRODUCTION TO GLASS BEAD MAKING starts 2/6, 4 weeks  Wed.  6:30-9p.m. $30
In this exciting course students will learn to create unique glass beads. Using a special torch they will learn to wrap hot glass around steel rods (mandrels). Basic bead shaping and decorative techniques will be covered. Materials: There is a $20 material fee associated with this course.

14. FUSED GLASS PICTURE FRAME 1 night, 2/5 Tues.  6:30-9 p.m. $15
In this workshop students will learn to cut glass and design the border of a 4x6 picture frame. Using colored glass pieces, glass dots and glass noodles students will create a unique and colorful design. Projects are taken to the instructors studio to be fired at approximately 1500 degrees in the kiln to fuse all the pieces together. Projects will be ready for delivery in approximately 2 weeks. Materials fee $22

15. FUSED GLASS PENDANT & EARRING SET 1 night, 2/12 Tues. 6:30-9 p.m. $15
In this workshop students will learn to cut glass and design a pendant and earring set just like those seen at fine craft shows and gift shops. Using colored glass pieces, glass dots, glass frit, glass noodles and dichroic glass students will create a unique and colorful design.
Projects will be taken to the instructors studio to be fired at approximately 1500 degrees in the kiln to fuse all the pieces together. Projects will be ready for delivery in approximately 2 week. Students are invited to make as many sets as they’d like with a materials fees of $20 per set.

38. THE ART OF CLOWNING starts 2/6 Wed. 7-9 p.m. $40
Bring out the clown that is inside of you! In 10 weeks learn how to develop a clown character from how to act to the make-up and costume. Leave your worries at home-have fun! Entertain at your next party and make a group laugh. BE A CLOWN!

39. ART (DRAWING ) starts 2/6 Wed. 7-9 p.m. $40
Learn the basic steps of drawing. Fine tune your current skills. Come and be inspired! For the beginning or advanced student. Learn to draw in a variety of media. This course includes composition, perspective, color, and figure sketching. Bring the following the 1st night: paper for charcoal or pastel, charcoal (pencil or sticks),or pastels (pencil or sticks), or colored pencils.

40. ART (OIL PAINTING) starts 2/5 Tue. 7-8:30 p.m. $40
Learn the essentials of oil painting and acrylics. You will learn perspective, color mixing, and composition. Individual instruction for the beginner or advanced student. Bring your own materials: canvas and oil paints. By the end of 10 weeks you will have an art work to be proud to exhibit at our Open House.

44. CAKE DECORATING 1 starts 2/6, Wed. 5 weeks  7-9 p.m. $20
Learn to decorate beautiful cakes at home. Five lessons devoted to basic cake preparation, basic boarders, drop flowers, the rose, basketweave, character pans, figure piping, and much more. Everyone will be saying, "Where did you get this beautiful cake?" Your cakes will make an occasion special. An additional materials fee is payable to the teacher.

This course is a continuation of the beginners class with instruction on elaborate flowers, colors, writing, and tiered cakes. This is a step to professional cake decorating.

Learn how to melt & dip chocolate to make an occasion special. Have you enjoyed chocolate covered pretzels, marshmallows, etc.? Ever wondered about the party favors, special shapes & chocolate fillings that look so spectacular? This course is just in time for Easter. You will be able to produce delicious gifts after taking this course & have a lot of fun doing it.. Material fee $15 payable the 1st night to instructor.

If you would like to learn the skills to crochet, this beginner class is for you. You will learn to make handmade treasures for yourself, your home, and for gifts. An additional $6 materials fee is payable to the teacher.

Class will be making boutonnieres, corsages, fresh and silk arrangements, up- rights, and center pieces. Decorate a grape vine wreath. Add elegance to your home with flowers. Planning a wedding? Would you like to learn about centerpieces, bouquets, corsages & boutonnieres? This is the class for you. An additional $50 materials fee is payable to the teacher.

75. KNITTING (Beginning) starts 2/6, Wed. 10 weeks  7-8:30 p.m. $40
This course is for those who want to learn knitting skills. The newest finishing, techniques will be taught. Problems solved. Learn about new yarns and how to knit and put together garments. An additional $6 yarn material fee is payable to the teacher 1s night of class.

80. PHOTOGRAPHY WITH DIGITAL CAMERAS  starts 2/5, Tues.  10 weeks 7-8:30 p.m. $60
Learn to take better pictures! This class will focus mainly on basic photo techniques-composition, lighting, depth of field; class time will be divided between picture-taking and critique (analyzing the photos as a class). Some elements of the "digital" side will also be covered -- such as managing and archiving your files, and how to retouch photos on the computer. Students must bring their own digital camera -- but friends can share a camera.

84. QUILTMAKING (Beginner & Advanced) starts 2/6, Wed. 10 weeks 8:30-10 p.m. $40
In this course you will learn basic quiltmaking techniques in patchwork appliqué and quilting as well as fabric coordination. A throw size quilt or wall hanging will be made. You will be well into the quilting process before class ends.

96. WATERCOLOR (Beginners)  starts 2/5, Tues.  7-9 p.m. $40
Discover the joys of watercolor. Learn the basics, washes, use of brushes and other techniques. We will explore all watercolor materials such as watercolor pencils, and ink in addition to paint. Many demonstrations: scenes, flowers, animals and basic portrait techniques covered. A $10 additional materials fee is payable 1st night to instructor.
